NUST Students win first place in Stanford Longevity Design Challenge.
Students from NUST have won first place in the Stanford Longevity Design Challenge 2017, held in California. The team consisting of Arsalan Javed, Hooriya Anam and Awais Shafique defeated teams from across the globe with their anti-tremor proto-type project TAME. The team from Pakistan, NUST, competed against students from MIT, Cornell University, Beijing University and Stanford University, and bagged the first prize of cash and free entrepreneurial guidance.
TAME is a wearable technology for the suppression of pathological tremors, without hindering the voluntary movement of the patient. This year’s theme at the competition was based on projects and products that optimized the human life.
This is a very motivational message for the youth of Pakistan, as these students have made our country proud.
